• Monthscapes is a platform to create yearly photo books.

Each month, upload a few photos, and by the end of the year, you’ve created your own annual photo album to print, to cherish, to share.

No endless editing, no scrolling, no algorithms, nothing forgotten.

  • Monthscapes is an antidote to digital clutter. A simple way to turn your camera roll into something that lasts.

The early signs that we were onto something came from our own apartment. We started printing our books and leaving them out, and friends or family members who flipped through them wanted to make one too. There’s something about holding a year in your hands, the nostalgia, the conversation it sparks, that digital never quite replaces.

People take more photos today than ever, yet most of them vanish into the cloud. Our memories live scattered across camera rolls, drives, and feeds buried beneath algorithms that care more about engagement than memory.

Technology promised to make saving moments easy, but it mostly made it overwhelming. Photos pile up, moments blur, and before long, another year passes without much to show for it.

We tried the usual photobook tools, but they weren’t built for how we actually live. They focus on milestones, weddings, trips, big events, not the everyday months in between. And they demand hours of curation no one really has time for.

So we built Monthscapes. A way to turn the photos we’re already taking into something tangible, without the friction.

Building something timeless in a fast world isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.

Monthscapes exists because we wanted it for ourselves, and now we can’t imagine a year without it.

  • The Ideas and spirit that guide what we make, and why we make it

    1. Memory deserves intention.

Technology made it easy to capture everything, but harder to remember anything. Monthscapes makes that intention accessible.

    2. The ordinary is worth remembering.

Big moments make for beautiful photos, but it’s the small, consistent ones that tell the real story of a life.

    3. Simplicity invites consistency.

Most people don’t make photo books because the process feels too big, too time-consuming, too precious. Monthscapes breaks it down into a rhythm that fits modern life . A few photos, a few minutes, and you’re done. Over time, those small acts add up to something that’ll last a lifetime.

4 . Technology should help you see your life, not escape from it.

We designed Monthscapes to be simple & intentional. It’s not built for endless engagement or notifications. It’s built to help you step out of the feed and back into your own story.

    5. Craft means care, in product and in pace.

We believe in building things that last. Every detail of Monthscapes from its design to its physical materials reflects that belief. It’s software made for print, but more than that, it’s a gesture toward permanence in a world of constant change.
